Annie OakleY's
Boom Days
October 8, 2011
Pinehurst, NC

We've got it all Shopping, Memorabilia and stuff to do for Adults and Families alike!
In both a tented environment and inside two historic barns built at the mile track in the 1940’s & 1950’s Annie Oakley’s Boom Days will present an exciting display of art, guns and memorabilia. A wealth of memorabilia on Annie Oakley, the Pinehurst Gun Club and shooting in the Sandhills will be on display plus an extra special opportunity to explore elements from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center coming all the way from Cody, Wyoming.
This year’s event will include more links to the early 1900’s in the form of active demonstrations. Spectators will be able to see everything from working blacksmiths and horse farriers, to glass blowing, clay pot throwers, saddle making, gun engraving and several other craftsmen.
The exposition will feature a historic photo perspective and memorabilia from Annie Oakley and the original Pinehurst Gun Club. All elements are courtesy of private collectors, historical society and the archives.
You can see Exhibitors such as:
· Non-profit associations from wildlife to land management
· Travel and shooting operations featuring the highly acclaimed Fork Farm from Norwood, NC, and SYC Sporting Adventures with
locations in Argentina, South Africa and more
· Clubs in and around the area so you can talk with and explore the many sporting life opportunities.
In addition to the Expo, there will be on-going demonstrations of “period” type craftsmen. We are currently working on securing the following:
· Blacksmith
· Glassblowing
· Saddle maker
· Pottery thrower
Kids Area
As this is a family event, we will have a designated area dedicated to children. Everything in the area will be focused around the sporting life. Don't miss the Carolina Horse Park part Horse Races! Races take place around noon, so be sure to sign up to take part.
